AMIR Master – Double Degree Programme (Materials Engineering MSc)

The AMIR programme, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), relies on the expertise of six European universities to provide comprehensive knowledge in the field of raw materials recycling, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and research partners.

Applicants study at European universities specialising in the specific aspects of Advanced Materials: Innovative Recycling.

Students gain insight into the general and technical aspects of the raw materials value chain, including general chemistry, materials science, materials life cycle, as well as ethical, scientific, and sustainability challenges. They also develop their creativity, innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills.

The AMIR programme is a four-semester course taught in English, completed at two different institutions. At the end of their studies, participants receive diplomas from both universities.

  • In the first year, students participate in the English-language Materials Engineering MSc programme at the University of Miskolc (specialisation: Innovative Recycling of Advanced Materials).

  • In the second year, they specialise in a chosen study field at one of the three AMIR partner universities: Technical University of Madrid, TU Darmstadt, or University of Liège.

  • The programme also includes a professional internship at a research organisation, industrial partner, or academic partner.

Participation in the programme is possible either through the Hungarian admission system or by direct application.

Applications to the programme must be submitted via the online platform of the University of Bordeaux, by uploading documents such as proof of previous qualifications, proof of language proficiency, a motivation letter, etc.

Successful applicants are awarded a scholarship within the framework of the EIT Label programme.

Further information about the programme is available on the AMIR MASTER website.

Start-up Development (HSUP) I–II.

A two-semester elective course for students interested in innovation.

The HSUP course is an online university start-up training programme aimed at familiarising Hungarian university students with the world of innovation, modern entrepreneurial knowledge, and especially the operation of start-ups — all through a new, common educational platform.

For more information, watch the programme’s video or read further below!

The programme consists of two consecutive semesters of courses on innovation and start-up topics. The training is delivered in an e-learning format, allowing students to complete it at their own pace via the programme’s web interface or mobile application.

  • In the first semester (autumn), the focus is on innovative thinking and learning about the start-up world.

  • In the second semester (spring), students work in teams to develop the selected ideas.

Course codes:

  • 1st semester (autumn): MAKMKT302N or MAKMKT302GN

  • 2nd semester (spring): MAKMKT304N or MAKMKT304GN
