Camp Description – Beyond and Within Materials

Discover the world of materials with us: look at them under the microscope, examine their composition, break them, print them, and recycle them!

The camp begins on Monday morning at the University of Miskolc, where we welcome participants from 9:00 a.m. The camp closes on Friday with lunch and a discussion of shared experiences. Accommodation is provided in the newly renovated university dormitories (2-bed rooms with adult supervision at night), along with meals and all program activities.

Sample Program Schedule (subject to change):

• Day 1 – Arrival, accommodation, ice-breaking activities, laboratory visit (50 minutes), campus walk, afternoon thematic program

• Day 2 – Thematic program, sports and cooking in the morning, excursion to Miskolc-Tapolca with free time

• Day 3 – Train ride to Lillafüred, short hike, shared meal and free program at Hollóstető

• Day 4 – Scientific morning, thematic program in the afternoon

• Day 5 – Art in Materials Science – craft activities, camp closing after lunch

The scientific program can be chosen by the applicants; announcements will be published soon.

Important Information

• For participants under 18, the application must be filled out by a parent/guardian.

• The e-mail address provided in the application form will be the primary contact address. Please make sure it is correct before submitting!

• Several consent forms must be filled out (e.g., food allergies must be indicated).

All registered applicants will receive confirmation about whether they can participate or have been placed on the waiting list. If we cannot reach an applicant via the provided contact details, or if the required forms are not submitted, the application will be cancelled one week before the camp starts, and students from the waiting list will be admitted instead.
