The Imre Csizmadia College for Advanced Studies was established in 2023 by the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering and the Chemical Engineering MSc programme of the faculty.

The main objectives of the College include:

• To establish a scientific environment and community that provides an appropriate framework for acquiring high-level knowledge in the natural sciences—particularly in chemical engineering—through the operation of research laboratories located within the Centre for Higher Education and Industrial Cooperation (FIEK) and the Institute of Chemistry of the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering. The College aims to contribute to the development of Hungarian industry and the national scientific sphere.

• To strengthen the Hungarian natural sciences community and support the organisation of both domestic and international theoretical and practical research projects carried out in research groups and laboratories. Furthermore, the College promotes the dissemination of scientific results and the exploration of new fields of application. It provides high-quality, advanced professional training in the natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, etc.) for interested, talented, and ambitious students of the University of Miskolc, introducing the latest technologies and methodologies in close cooperation with scientific research laboratories.

• To support the nurturing of outstanding students, their participation in public life, and their preparation for intellectual and professional responsibilities by creating the necessary material and personal conditions. The College strives to foster a community of socially responsible and professionally demanding intellectuals whose knowledge, preparedness, and opportunities form the foundation of the future intelligentsia, thereby enhancing the reputation of the University of Miskolc.
