Materials Science Competition

We organize the Materials Science Competition once a year, where young people can showcase their creativity and talent individually or in groups. The competition takes place in several rounds, and depending on the current call, we provide financial support to the participants.

Engineers for Sustainability 2.0

Through awareness-raising lectures in secondary schools, enriched with experimental demonstrations, we highlight the importance of an environmentally conscious lifestyle and the role of the engineering profession. Our main goal is to help young people understand the importance of sustainability by relating it to their everyday lives.

MaterialBAZAAR Science

A bazaar of fascinating experiments, where we reveal the true face and personality of materials. Spectacular demonstrations with ferromagnets, liquid nitrogen, flame experiments, chemical reactions, and much more. Discover the world of materials with us!

Earth and Materials Science Adventure Tour

Several times a year we organize our competition “Focus on the Earth” for pre-registered students. The main dates of the program are centered around Earth Day (22 April) and World Day for Our Earth (21 October).

A Breath of Fresh Air Lecture Series

What is wrong with today’s air quality? What do we breathe in? Can we trust the measurements? We present the latest developments and help you explore the air quality monitoring system so that you can see for yourself the quality of the air you breathe.

Creative Photo Contest in Materials and Earth Sciences

Our University places great emphasis on the topic of sustainable development; therefore, each year we announce a photo contest and exhibition on a selected theme. The competition is open to everyone over the age of 12 who wishes to showcase their creativity.

Summer Camps for High School Students

Our free camps guide participants to nature through the world of materials science. Detective games, competitions, sports activities, hiking, barbecues, cooking in a cauldron, and of course scientific tasks and experiments await the students. For those living further away, we organize a separate camp where accommodation is also provided. Click here for details!

Scientific World Days at the Lectern

Our Faculty provides the opportunity to “bring science to your doorstep” with 30–45 minute lectures on selected world days. The program can be requested both in person and online. While our topics are primarily ideal for secondary schools, we also offer exciting programs for primary school pupils and even for kindergarten children.

Shape Materials Science with Us – Demonstrations

The programs of the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering are available throughout the year at events organized by the University of Miskolc, as well as at individually arranged times for groups and schools. These include lectures, experimental demonstrations, laboratory visits, and even presentations of research topics.
